What is bag policy at Brewers games, parking at American Family Field?
When you go to a Milwaukee Brewers game it's not just about making sure you have the appropriate baseball attire and tickets on your phone.
Just as important is making sure you know the rules of parking and what you can and can't bring in to American Family Field, the Brewers' stadium for the last 22 years.
Here's what you need to know about parking and the bag policy at American Family Field.
Gates primarily open three hours before the start of a game. However, on games that begin at 6:40 p.m. Monday-Thursday, lots open 2 ½ hours before first pitch.
There are several lots at American Family Field, including a preferred option. You can preorder parking passes to speed up the process at the check point. You can do that online or through the Brewers Ticket Office at (414) 902-4000. Prices range from as low as $13 for general advanced parking for weekday games all the way up to $40 for preferred parking the day of a game on weekends and for Chicago Cubs games. Full pricing details are on the Brewers' website.
There is also a bike parking section and special area for buses and RVs.
All parking lots close within one hour after the game or event.
A simple rule: Pack light and make sure you have the correct bag, otherwise you'll be going back to your vehicle when you're at security.
Non-clear bags that are larger than 9'' x 5'' x 2'' are not allowed. Any multi-compartment bag is also prohibited as are backpacks, drawstring bags, coolers and purses.
Clear single-compartment tote bags that are 12'' x 12'' x 6'' or smaller and one-gallon clear resealable bags are allowed.
Yes. Diaper bags are allowed but the maximum size is 16'' x 16'' x 8''. A bag for ADA and "medically-necessary items" are allowed.
If you have a beer from your tailgate you'll have to finish it before getting to security since no alcoholic beverages are allowed in.
You can bring in a bottled water or a non-alcoholic drink as long as it's sealed and in a plastic bottle and is 32 ounces or fewer. Food items that fit in a permitted bag are allowed. Strollers and wheelchairs are also allowed. Carry-in items may be inspected.
For more on what is allowed in to American Family Field, visit the security section of the Brewers' website.
If you're new to Brewers games this summer, you'll notice grills going, canopies up and lots of lawn-type of games being played. It's all part of the Brewers game day experience before the actual game.
And if you're a tailgating veteran here's a reminder: Tailgating must end 30 minutes after first pitch. Only ticketholders are allowed in and parking spaces can't be reserved or saved for fans.
For more on tailgating rules, visit the Brewers' website.
